A very big thank you to Andy Tooze who delivered some incredible poetry workshops in school for the whole school on Thursday 21st November.
We started the day with a whole school assembly in which we performed lots of Andy’s poems using some creative and memorable actions. The children then took part in workshops in their classrooms, covering a range of activities from orally rehearsing tongue twisters to writing their own poems. These sessions thoroughly inspired all our children to write their own poetry and offered a real purpose for writing and learning.
At the end of the day, we joined together again as a whole school to celebrate our work and achievements of the day. Each class had the opportunity to perform and share their work collectively, with some individual children sharing and performing their independent work.
An inspirational and fun day bringing our love of Reading and English to life. Super work, everyone.
