Children who attend Low Furness benefit from a broad and interesting curriculum, well equipped grounds including excellent playgrounds, walking track, pond, polytunnels and chicken coop as well as the usual sports and outdoor learning facilities. We get out into our beautiful local landscape at every opportunity: Key Stage 1 has regular Forest School days and the whole school enjoys a range of lake and fell activities in the summer.
The school has a nursery class and teaches children aged from 3 to 11.
Our building was purpose built in the late 90s when three village schools were combined into one, and we are lucky to have a bright, airy interior with varied and useful spaces arranged around a hall big enough for whole-school assemblies and excellent Christmas plays.
Nothing is more important to us. Please see the safeguarding page for information about our approach, who to talk to and what to do if you are concerned about danger to a child.
Low Furness has high ambitions for all its pupils and expects them to participate and achieve in every aspect of school life. Our commitment to equal opportinities is an important aspect of our overall commitment to being a fully inclusive school. Please see the inclusion page for more details.
At Low Furness Church of England Primary School, we are committed to meeting the special educational needs of all our pupils and to ensuring that every child achieves the best possible outcomes.
Admissions are managed by the local authority, Westmorland and Furness Council. For more information please refer to the Council School Admissions page.
