Low Furness promotes a ‘healthy approach’ to food and drink. Children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack for break times such as a piece of fruit, or vegetables. All children are asked to bring a small named bottle of water to drink throughout the school day in order to keep them fully hydrated and to aid concentration.
Children in Key Stage 1 are provided with free fruit and vegetables through a current government initiative.
Low Furness are part of the Cool Milk Scheme providing free milk to all pupils up to the age of five years. Pupils under the age of five years are automatically registered onto the scheme.
We are a nut free school.
