ELSA Support

ELSA Support

Here at Low Furness, we offer ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) in school to any child that might need some extra help. We are very lucky as we have 3 members of staff who have been trained to support children in their development of their emotional literacy.

What is Emotional Literacy?

  • Understanding and coping with the feelings about ourselves and others.
  • Developing high self-esteem and positive interactions with others.
  • Being emotionally literate helps children focus better on their learning.

What our ELSA team might help with are:

  • Recognising emotions
  • Self-esteem
  • Social Skills
  • Friendship Skills
  • Anger Management
  • Loss and Bereavement
