At the end of their Geography topic all about the weather and changing seasons, Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a visit to Lakes Aquarium and a cruise on Windermere. They were able to see and find out about some of the wildlife that lives in British waters as well as wildlife from other areas of the world including Asia, America and the rainforest. The children really enjoyed seeing the Asian short-clawed otters and couldn’t believe that they eat a quarter of their own body weight every day! They also enjoyed meeting Albert the Terrapin. The children definitely experienced the varied British weather on the cruise leaving in sunshine, with some drizzle on the way before arriving in chilly Bowness.
A huge thank you to FLF for covering some of the cost for us.
