At Low Furness we are very proud of our strong family and wider community links. We operate an ‘open door’ policy with visitors welcomed. We regularly visit the local church and receive visits from members of the Church Family.
We are part of the Diocese of Carlise which has 104 schools throughout Cumbria from Barrow-in-Furness to Bewcastle and Nicholforest, from St Bees Head to Stainmore.
The Diocese of Carlisle offers advice and support on improving academic standards, recruiting headteachers, school buildings, governance and admissions, collective worship, religious education and a school’s Christian ethos. More details can be seen on their website.
Pleas see here for our latest report.
We are very proud to be linked with Daniels school in Tema, Ghana. Mrs Taplin and Mrs Tracey have visited the school. During lockdown schools in Ghana were shut for over 12 months. We are currently strengthening our links by supporting with resources, talking over Zoom and taking part in some shared lessons.
Please see a video to a film about Daniel’s Classical School which was made as part of the EU funded project ‘Global Literacy for a Fairer World‘
