Year 5+6

Welcome to year 5 and 6, we would like to introduce you to our teaching team!

Our class teachers are Miss Doran, Mr Wilson and Mrs Little.

We are supported by our wonderful teaching assistants Mrs Taplin, Miss Sykes who bring a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge to the team.

We have high expectations of everybody, staff, pupils and parents, and believe that working as a team we will achieve the very best outcomes for all.

We are passionate about teaching and learning and aim to deliver a diverse and interesting curriculum through challenging, exciting and engaging lessons that make our children think and utilise our beautiful setting.

We nurture social and emotional development by supporting individual needs while encouraging independence and personal responsibility.  We recognise and value the talents of every member of our team in the knowledge that we are always learning from each other.

As we prepare our Year 6 pupils for transition to secondary school, we focus on developing their leadership skills by assigning them additional responsibilities.  We rely on each of them to be a confident, positive, inspirational role model with whom younger pupils can identify and aspire to be.

We look forward to another busy year with lots of exciting plans in the pipe line.   Look out for news of our latest adventures.

Goodbye to Low Furness

Most of our pupils transfer to Ulverston Victoria High School in Ulverston, to Dowdales School in Dalton or to schools in the Barrow area.

Details about transfer to Secondary School for Year 6 go out to parents during the Autumn Term of your child’s last year at Low Furness.
